They aren’t fans of the Grateful Dead, but they’re just as dedicated, and some of these dedicated Chick-fil-A fans now have a year of free meals to be grateful for.

With the clanging of pots and the cheers of the more than 100 people who had camped out in the parking lot for more than a day, Chick-fil-A is officially open. After an initial crowd of more than 250 was narrowed down to the lucky 100 who would receive a complimentary Chick-fil-A combo a week for a year the parking lot was transformed into a campground in anticipation of the Feb. 4 grand opening.

"We are overwhelmed with the turnout. The excitement from the community is great. As I have been driving around in the area in my "cow-car" people have been really excited to have a Chick-fil-A in the area. We are ready to become a part of this community," said Todd Coleman, franchise operator.
