Ponte Vedra Rotary grants benefit 13 groups

The Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra Beach presented $24,500 in charitable grants to representatives of 13 local organizations at last week’s meeting held at Marsh Landing Country Club.

 

Recipients included:
•The Players Community Senior Center accepted by Julie Wright, Vickie VanHorn, $5,000
•St. Johns County United Way accepted by Tim Eymer, $5,000
•Surf Camp for Autistic Children accepted by Kym Sears, $2,000
•St Johns County Junior Miss accepted by Elise Beard, $1,000
•SJC - The Florida Heritage Book Festival accepted by Kathy Dvornick, $1,500
•ARC of St Johns accepted by Kathy Jackson, $1,500
•Project SOS accepted by Pam Mullarky, $1,500
•Ponte Vedra Public Education Foundation accepted by Marilyn Hoener, $2,000
•Mission House accepted by Jan Flager, $1,000
•BEAM accepted by Cindy Funkhouser, 1,000
•daniel inc. accepted by Trevor Quinlan, $1,000
•PACE accepted by Mary Marx, $1,000
•Nease High School Band accepted by Michael Johnson, $1,000
These presentations bring the sum 2008 total of Ponte Vedra Rotary Club contributions to $42,500. Additional donations were made earlier during the Club’s 2008 fiscal year, which began July 1, 2007.
The total is a near-record amount and the highest in the past 10 years.
