11th annual ‘Shoot for the Stars’ golf tournament to be held Feb. 11

Calling on all golfers to “Shoot for the Stars” by participating in the 11th annual Morning Star School Golf Tournament. The "Shoot for the Stars" tournament is Monday, Feb. 11, at San Jose Country Club located at 7529 San Jose Blvd. in Jacksonville.

All proceeds will benefit Morning Star School of Jacksonville serving Northeast Florida since 1956. The school provides a unique, inspiring and faith-based education for children in kindergarten through 12th grade with learning differences including specific learning disabilities, ADD, mild intellectual disabilities, processing deficits and high functioning autism.

“Each year our teachers make sure that every child, no matter what their learning challenge may be, obtains the education they deserve. Morning Star School principal Jean Barnes said. “Our students come to us from the greater Jacksonville area and public and private schools in five counties. Our students may not thrive in a regular classroom environment, but they excel at Morning Star School. We need your support to continue our programs.” 

The registration fee is $150 per player, and includes lunch, complimentary cocktails, games, prizes and a memorable awards dinner. Registration begins at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon. Prizes include $30,000 towards a new car (lease or purchase) from Nimnicht Buick GMC, a Rolex watch from Underwood Jewelers, foursomes to Ponte Vedra Inn and Club, Queen’s Harbor Yacht & Country Club, Marsh Creek Country Club, Deerwood Country Club and more.
