Authorities have issued an Amber Alert for a 16-year-old following an alleged home invasion, robbery and possible kidnapping in Ponte Vedra Beach Monday night.

The missing teen has been identified as Marcus Anthony Hatch, 16, who has not been seen since Monday. The Amber Alert, issued at 11:08 a.m. Tuesday, asked motorists to be on the lookout for a 2009 gray Subaru Legacy with a Florida “Air Force” tag AKN6Z. Hatch is described as 6’ 2”, 160 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black pants with a black hoodie and black Adidas shoes with red stripes. Authorities are considering him a missing endangered juvenile.

Hatch’s disappearance is believed to be related to a reported home invasion and robbery, to which deputies responded just before midnight Monday evening. According to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, the couple who summoned authorities said they answered a knock on their door and were confronted by two black males armed with handguns. The suspects, described as wearing camouflage clothing, forcibly entered the residence and ordered the victims to stay in a certain part of the home while the suspects gathered property.

Sometime later, the victims told detectives, a third black male suspect arrived holding Hatch at gunpoint. According to the victims, Hatch is an acquaintance who lives in Jacksonville. As the incident continued, the victims’ roommate arrived home and was also held at gunpoint.

As the suspects prepared to leave, they allegedly bound three of the victims and left in the couple’s car – the 2009 Subaru Legacy now being sought in the Amber Alert – taking Hatch with them at gunpoint.

The Major Crime Unite continues to investigate this crime and further information will be provided as details become available.
