Flip flops, Hawaiian shorts and frozen concoctions will be the order of the day when the Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra Beach hosts its annual “Mineral City Celebration” March 25.

To be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, the event will feature a Jimmy Buffett-style theme of “PonteVedraville,” with live entertainment provided by the “Island Paradise” band, Caribbean cuisine and more. WJXT Channel 4 news anchor Kent Justice will serve as emcee for the event, which will also feature the presentation of the Rotary Club’s “Rock of the Community Award” to Donna Deegan.

Trip raffle

In addition to a silent auction, the celebration will feature a “Changes in Latitude” trip raffle, with the winner receiving a trip to one of four exotic destinations: Hawaii, Rome, Tuscany or Ireland. Full descriptions on each trip are available on the Mineral City Celebration website.

Tickets are $100 each or five for $400, and may be purchased online at www.mineralcitycelebration.com. The winner of the raffle will be announced live at the Mineral City Celebration; the winner does not need to be present to win.

Proceeds from this year’s Mineral City Celebration will benefit the Dial A Ride senior and disabled transportation program, along with Mission House, BEAM, HEAL and numerous other Beaches-area charities.
