A full-service restaurant specializing in Southern cooking and craft cocktails and an early education center are the latest businesses to announce plans to open in Nocatee Town Center.
South Kitchen & Spirits will open its second location in a new building currently under development east of Crosswater Parkway, behind Dunkin’ Donuts and M Shack. According to an announcement on the Nocatee resident blog, the new 4,050 square-foot restaurant is scheduled to open in December, and will feature a covered patio and spacious bar area serving hand-crafted cocktails, beer and wine.
While a Nocatee menu is currently being refined, South Kitchen’s Avondale location features such savory Southern fare as fried catfish and grits, oyster po’ boys, blacked eye pea and tomato stew, and fried chicken. The menu also features a variety of soups and “superfood” salads featuring quinoa, kale and edamame alongside biscuits, cornbread and collard greens.
Currently, South Kitchen serves weekday lunch as well as weekend brunch, dinner and happy hour.
“Initial response to the South Kitchen & Spirits concept in Avondale has been overwhelmingly positive, so we’re really looking forward to being able to bring SKS’s brand of southern hospitality to Nocatee,” owner Jason Motley said in the announcement. “It’s an area that we’ve been considering for a second location since day one, based on the opportunity to be one of the first full service dining & bar options, as well as the long-term potential for growth.”
Primrose School
In other Nocatee news, an 18,000 square-foot early education center is expected to open in the Town Center area this summer. To be located at 785 Crosswater Parkway at the Nocatee Town Center roundabout, the Primrose School early education center will offer 15 classrooms capable of serving more than 250 children. In addition to classrooms featuring wireless technology, the center will feature four secure, age-appropriate playgrounds, a water play area, a pavilion for events and a “Primrose Patch” garden for gardening and nature activities.
