The YMCA of Florida’s First Coast has joined forces with OneBlood in January to recognize National Blood Donor Month.

Community members who give blood at a OneBlood donor center or Big Red Bus in St. Johns, Duval or Clay Counties in January will receive a free one-week guest pass at any First Coast YMCA location, as well as a wellness checkup of blood pressure, pulse, temperature and iron count and a cholesterol screening. Participants will also receive a long sleeved OneBlood shirt.

In general, healthy people who are at least 16 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds can donate blood. Photo ID is required to donate.

OneBlood is a nonprofit organization responsible for providing safe, available and affordable blood to more than 200 hospital partners and their patients throughout most of Florida, parts of Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina.
