Ponte Vedra residents can help fight pediatric cancer by simply visiting their neighborhood ABC Fine Wine & Spirits. From now until Oct. 2, a portion of the proceeds from select wine bottles purchased in stores will go directly to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation (NPCF).
Cancer is the primary cause of death by disease among children, with about 43 children being diagnosed with cancer per day. Since 1980, fewer than a dozen drugs have been developed for use in pediatric cancer treatment, compared to the hundreds of drugs approved for cancer treatment in adults.
The NPCF funds clinical trials and collaborates with a network of leading hospitals across the United States to fast-track less toxic and more targeted treatments for children with cancer. Last year, ABC Fine Wine & Spirits guests helped raise more than $108,000 to support the NPCF, bringing the company's total contributions to-date to more than $341,000.
