Beaches Episcopal School students merge math skills and career choices with class project

Sixth grade students at Beaches Episcopal School were recently treated to a lesson merging math skill and career aspirations.

The project, completed by Ms. Elizabeth Harman’s math class, demonstrated the relationship between math and choosing a profession. In addition to learning how to balance checkbooks, students were instructed to conduct research on specific career choices, examining the pros, cons, potential earnings, necessary education, prerequisites, job statistics and future outlooks of their selections. They then presented their results to their peers while dressed in the attire of their chosen professions.
