Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty recently supported Pink Up the Pace, the largest 5K in St. Augustine. More than 2,300 runners and hundreds of volunteers, supporters and survivors took part in the ninth annual event, raising more than $42,000.

“Our team enjoys the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our community, especially if we can assist those in need or support a cause that is near to our hearts,” said Ann King, broker/manager of the company’s St. Augustine Beach and Murabella offices.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty’s St. Augustine Beach office team members participated in the 5K as runners, walkers and volunteers. Broker Associate Shelley Trela also served as volunteer coordinator of the musicians who perform along the race route during the event.

“We appreciate the talented singers and bands who performed, as well as all of the supporters who came out to encourage the runners during the event,” King said. “It is very rewarding to be involved with an event like Pink Up the Pace.”

The Pink Up the Pace organization serves both women and men in an effort to raise money to help fund imaging services to detect breast cancer.

“Our team cares deeply about the community and is committed to community service,” said Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty Broker/Executive Vice President Christy Budnick. “Giving back to the community in which we live and work is an important component of our company culture.”

The mission of Pink up the Pace is to have a positive impact on the lives of those affected by breast cancer in St. Augustine and St. Johns County. More information is available at www.pinkupthepace.com.
