Los Angeles-based celebrity jewelry designer Erica Courtney stopped in Ponte Vedra Beach last week at Underwood Jewelers to present her jewelry line and meet with customers.
Courtney, who has worked with celebrities such as Jessica Alba, Sandra Bullock and Sofia Vergara and for red carpet events and television productions, was at the local jeweler last Thursday, Nov. 1 for a VIP event that also featured hors d'oeuvres, drinks and good company. Courtney stayed in the area for the weekend.
“What I love are the people here,” said Courtney, who said she has been coming to Ponte Vedra for the last four of five years for this event. “They’re so sweet. And the beach, the weather … everything is a perfect place to have fun and sell jewelry.”
Courtney has been designing jewelry for three decades. She’s known for her Drop Dead Gorgeous® collection, “adorned with vivid colored jewels, whimsical designs and intricate details,” as stated on her website. She travels the world for rare gemstones to enrich her collections.
With such an extensive background in jewelry design, Courtney said she enjoys working with Underwood’s because their staff is so knowledgeable.
“I have to say I was most impressed by how they run the business here and I don’t give out that compliment very often,” Courtney said. “Because typically a lot of stores don’t have knowledgeable sales people that really know what they’re talking about. For me, Underwood’s was a shock. … I can’t believe it. They’re so knowledgeable here.”
