When an Atlanta couple couldn’t find their perfect home, they decided to create it. Dwight and Ann Duke knew they wanted a beach home in Ponte Vedra Beach, but couldn’t find a property to fit their needs. So, when they found a condominium in an ideal location, they decided to purchase the property and make it their own.

The Dukes completely renovated their condo at The Breakers V. “We took it down to the studs,” Ann Duke said. “We raised the ceilings and opened the entire place to take advantage of the beautiful beach and ocean views.”

Working with the award-winning design team of Gary Marshall & Associates of Atlanta and Charleston, their Realtors introduced them to builder Brent Swanson, who executed the design team’s vision. Their inspiration was the shell-strewn sands and blue waters of the Atlantic. In addition to raising the ceilings, they added custom mouldings to each room. An easy maintenance, engineered wood floor and ceramic tiles keep beach living simple.

Swanson created a bespoke console with mirrored doors to separate the entrance from the dining area. The Macaubas Fantasy quartzite counter tops were specifically chosen to reflect the colors of the sand mere steps away.

The living area bookcases are backed with a Phillip Jeffries natural woven wall covering. A built-in bar features water-hued glass mosaic tiles bordering recessed glass shelves. The living area is complete with designer fabrics and imported Italian terra cotta vases made into lamps. The light-filled sunroom boasts panoramic ocean views, built-in bookcases, seating and another dining area.

The master suite opens to the sunroom as well. The room appears open and airy, with a raised ceiling of painted v-groove boards and a custom upholstered bed with tailored bedding. Tiled shower walls complement the double quartzite vanity with dressing table.

The front hall leads to two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The hall bath serves the twin bedroom and functions as a powder room. The twin bedroom has a nautical appeal and the adjacent king bedroom with en-suite bath might encourage guests to overstay their welcome.

This spectacular beach home is currently for sale fully furnished and move-in ready.

“We love this place,” Ann Duke said. “But we have found another project here and we’re ready to let someone else enjoy the fruits of our labor.”

This property is represented by Berkshire Hathaway HSFNR, listed by Vanessa Solomon and Lurah Patrick and offered at $1,849,000.
