Hugs Across the County holding ‘No Hungry Holidays’ food drive

Posted

Local nonprofit Hugs Across the County is collecting food for St. Johns County kids in need again this holiday season and is asking for your help.

The organization’s “No Hungry Holidays” drive is gathering various food items for local kids that depend on free school-based breakfast and lunch programs to ensure they don’t go hungry over the holiday break. The nonprofit plans to pack over 500 bags of food this year after filling 260 last year.

Hugs Across the County’s shopping list includes Chef Boyardee meals, fruit cups, 28-40-ounce peanut butter jars, Saltine or Ritz crackers, Cheerios, Chex and Life cereals and Chewy granola bars.

Drop off locations for the food include Ponte Vedra High School, Bartram Trail High School, Creekside High School, St. Johns County School District’s main office and Old City Web Services in St. Augustine. Advanced Disposal is providing collection bins.
