Legacy Trust relocates its headquarters

CEO and Chairman Kristin McLauchlan recently opened the doors of Legacy Trust Family Wealth Offices’ new headquarters at 4200 Marsh Landing Blvd. in Jacksonville Beach.

After more than 16 years of sharing a headquarters with other clients in the Veranda building on A1A in Ponte Vedra Beach, Legacy Trust now has a building bearing its name. Dictated by growth, the move to the newly-named Legacy Trust building affords the company a larger office footprint with room to add staff — and easier highway access to accommodate clients, existing and new.

“We have and always will be committed to the Beaches area,” McLauchlan said. “We wanted a place of our own that offers ease of access for our clients. We were in our former space for 16 years, and during that time we went from three families to more than 75 families. We simply ran out of ways to reconfigure it for our internal growth and now that our clients come from all over the region, giving them easier access is simply a logical business decision.”

McLauchlan and COO Kristi Quick embarked on a nearly one-year search for real estate that took them from south Ponte Vedra to Atlantic Beach, before settling on its new building in Jacksonville Beach.

“We were only going to move if it felt right,” Quick said. “Having the entire first floor of this building with access to Butler, and the space to grow internally and externally, made it love at first site. Our name being on the building was icing on the cake — something we always wanted, but couldn’t really justify given all the other logos fighting for attention on A1A. The location of the building and our name on it make a statement that our company, our staff and our clients are significant to our area.”

McLauchlan opened Legacy Trust in 2002 after years as a financial manager for SunTrust. She felt there was a better way to manage the assets of wealthy families in the Jacksonville area, a model that relied as much on being a family’s financial concierge as it did on being its investment counselor.

“Maybe more today as ever before, our clients are seeking ways to get their arms around what has become a very complex landscape,” McLauchlan said. “We’re like the family CFO, making sure all the parts work together — the attorneys, insurance brokers, accountants and other asset managers,” she added. “We simplify their financial lives.”

In addition to its new office, Legacy Trust also has a new website at www.LegacyTrustCompany.com.
