Local lecture to feature address by founder and artistic director of Phase Eight Theater Company

The first program of the season for Adventures in the Arts, an art-related series of lectures sponsored by Cummer Beaches, is featuring an address by Jamario Stills, the founder and artistic director of Phase Eight Theater Company.

To be held Thursday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, the event presentation is titled “The Actor, the Stage with audience participation.” Stills is a native of Jacksonville and graduated from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and the Julliard School with a Bachelor of Arts in drama.

His acting career includes performances in world-renowned theater venues, such as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His directorial work includes “A Soldier's Tale,” “All My Sons” and “Love's Labour's Lost.” Stills is a drama instructor at Jacksonville University, and serves on the committee of Art in Public Places.

This program is free and open to the public.
