Lord of Life Lutheran Church to hold community paper-shredding event Nov. 10

Shed those unwanted pounds — of paper — at Lord of Life Lutheran Church’s first community shredding event on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Lord of Life will have the award-winning shredding company, Iron Mountain, on site with its truck. Cars can pull into the driveway, and people can dump their personal papers into a bin and watch the bin get automatically lifted and fed into the shredder.

The church is asking for a $25 donation for this service. The public may bring as many pounds of personal paper as they have.

“We know that many people have small at-home shredders but if anyone is like me, the paper piles up and takes too long to be fed through the shredder and then I have to empty it or first fix the paper jam,” Church Council President Cindy Tanton said. “As we are getting towards the end of the year, it’s a great way to clean out your home office now and be ready to start 2019 with a clean slate.”

According to the church, some of the things that should be shredded include ATM receipts, credit card and sales receipts, utility bills, used airline tickets, bank and financial institution statements, pay stubs, medical bills or statements (unless you have an unresolved insurance dispute), canceled checks, expired warranties, credit offers in the mail, expired passports, old driver’s licenses or car insurance.

Lord of Life Lutheran Church is located at 276 Roscoe Blvd. North in Ponte Vedra Beach.
