Jacksonville’s Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) will offer a Mother’s Day brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring a buffet with favorites such as shrimp and grits and Korean-fried chicken and waffles. Reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made at (904) 224-0113.

In addition to the brunch, MOCA will host two Jacksonville Symphony Chamber Orchestra performances at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. with Synæsthesia, a concert fusing visual and musical art featuring the sounds of Alban Berg, J.S. Bach and Phillip Glass. The performance will be accompanied by a projection designed by Vanessa Cruz, University of North Florida associate professor of graphic design and digital media, and Sheila Goloborotko, assistant professor of print making.  Treat mom to Parisian sweets from Ponte Vedra’s newly opened Le Macaron. On the menu is a wide array of specially flavored macarons – among them basil white chocolate, black currant, rose and strawberry key lime – and other French pastries such as eclairs, glace gelato and madeleines. The shop will also carry chestnut-flavored macarons for Mother’s Day.

Make an early Mother’s Day date during the shop’s “Afternoon in Paris” tea to be held Sunday, May 7 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. During the event, the shop will serve tea sandwiches, tartlets, champagne with strawberries, pink lemonade and more for visitors of all ages. Florida Water Tours: Mother’s Day Cruise

 Florida Water Tours will offer two special cruises for Mother’s Day with its Dolphin Tour, departing at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., and its Sunset Cruise of varied departure times. Both cruises will depart from the Camachee Cove Marina in St. Augustine.

During the 90-minute Dolphin Tour, passengers will ride through wetlands and coastal marshes, passing landmarks like the Bridge of Lions and St. Augustine Lighthouse in addition to manatees, dolphins and other animals. The Sunset Cruise, for guests 21 and older, is a BYOB event that offers a view of the setting sun over the water and more of St. Augustine’s historic landmarks.
