Special to the Recorder

The Nease boys soccer team shut out visiting Fernandina Beach 3-0 on Tuesday, Jan. 22 for its 11th victory of the season before heading into district tournament play.

“We just kept hammering away and taking shots,” Nease coach Fred Hallett said. “They put 7, 8, 9 in the box, sometimes all 11. It makes it very difficult to get decent shots.”

The Panthers’ Oliver Bojos scored the first goal of the game with four minutes left in the first half. With only seconds left in the game, senior Chasse Stuetzel scored the third and final goal of the night. Oscar Naranjo also scored for the Panthers.

Nease (11-2-2, 5-1-2 District 4-4A) next plays Bartram Trail in the district quarterfinals at home at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25
