How do you get to Carnegie Hall?

Practice.

Members of the Allen D. Nease High School choir learned the truth of that old chestnut recently, when the ensemble had a chance to perform at the famed concert hall in New York City.

Students performed "Gloria Festiva," "Homeward Bound," "Welcome," "Sweet Pleasure" and The Poet songs under the direction of Nease choral director Madeline Poe before joining with other choirs from around the country to perform a number of selections.

Fifty-five students participated in the four-day trip, which included visits to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Times Square, NBC Studios, Rockefeller Center and a sightseeing cruise on the Hudson River. Participants also had an opportunity to see three Broadway shows: “Phantom of the Opera,” Cirque du Soleil’s “Paramour” and the “War and Peace”-derived “Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812” featuring Josh Groban in his Broadway debut.
