Sunshine Play + Learn, a new children’s play center, recently announced it will hold its grand opening on Saturday, March 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Shops at World Golf Village.
Free for those who register for the opening event, families with children ages 6 and under can experience the newest indoor playground for kids. Snacks from Murray Bros. Caddyshack Restaurant and refreshments will be available, along with the chance to win giveaway prizes.
“I have two small daughters and have been looking for a place to bring them where they can be
creative, imaginative and safe to explore,” owner Lisette Perdomo explained. “When I didn’t find that, I decided to create it myself.”
Perdomo was inspired by the idea that creating a fun, friendly and safe environment for young children will help build a community of parents that can share and grow together.
“I also wanted to create a community of moms to share this motherhood journey together,” Perdomo said. “It’s a beautiful thing to be a mom, but it’s not easy.”
Aside from the indoor playground, Sunshine also offers a learning Rainbow Room and other areas where children will have the freedom to dress up, socialize, build and release some energy.
“The Rainbow Room can also host private events such as birthday parties, baby showers, holiday events and everything else under the sun,” Perdomo said. “We’ll also have weekly classes and activities for both children and parents in our Rainbow Room such as music, sign language, Spanish, sensory, theater classes,and more.”
Perdomo is excited to open her doors to both parents and children within the area.
Sunshine Play + Learn is located at 455 South Legacy Trail in St. Augustine and is open Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is closed on Mondays.
