New retailers to join Nocatee Town Center

Three retail stores, a fitness center and a sub shop will be coming to Nocatee Town Center in 2017.

Artsy Abode, Gwen Berlin, GNC, Jersey Mike’s Subs and Orangetheory Fitness have committed to occupy a new building currently under construction at the intersection of Capital Green Drive and Settlement Drive. According to Regency Centers Senior Leasing Agent Patrick McKinley, the new building is expected to be completed in May 2017, at which time the new tenants will be able to move in or complete any additional build out needed for their particular business.

McKinley said the new businesses complement Nocatee Town Center’s existing offerings, particularly through the addition of more retail shops. GNC is a well-known retailer of health and wellness products, while Gwen Berlin is a women’s clothing and accessories boutique. Artsy Abode offers distinctive home décor, gifts, jewelry and more.

It’s a trend that Regency expects to continue.

“The market continues to grow, which is great,” McKinley said. “As retail demand increases there’ll continue to be more retail space. We’re actively working with tenants right now for almost all the (available) space, and we’re looking forward to announcing more new tenants in the future.”

The announcement of new retailers follows a plethora of new businesses that have gravitated to Nocatee Town Center. In the past few years, the area has welcomed a wide variety of businesses, from restaurants and wine shops to doctor’s offices, hair salons and a dance studio. Several new buildings are currently under construction, with Starbucks and Tijuana Flats among the announced tenants ready to join the Nocatee Town Center business community.

Central to the town center’s growth, developers and leasing agents said, is the growth of the Nocatee community itself. In November, the master-planned community surpassed the 5,000-home mark, with 1,000 of those homes sold during 2016 alone. That growth has made Nocatee the third best-selling master-planned community in the nation.

"The Nocatee lifestyle is truly unparalleled and the community continues to add over 100 new families each month," noted Richard Ray, president of The PARC Group, Nocatee's master developer. "With the addition of retailers in the Nocatee Town Center, Nocatee residents continue to benefit from an enhanced and expanded lifestyle."

And with that expansion, officials say, will come additional businesses that see the potential of locating in Nocatee Town Center.

“The community continues to grow at a rapid pace and if that continues to happen you’ll see more retail,” said McKinley, who added that strong patronage by Nocatee residents of the town center’s existing businesses will send a signal to prospective tenants that Nocatee is where they want to be.

“It really is important for the community support local retailers.”
