Ponte Vedra’s girls tennis team won the FHSAA Class 2A District 4 tournament on its home court last Wednesday, April 18, after defeating Bolles by a score of 18 to 17.
Coach Kathryn Kehoe said the community has been "very supportive" of the team, and Ponte Vedra deserved to host the tournament.
"I feel like we're a leader in the district and so therefore we should be hosting," she said. "Everybody's been complimentary; we've done a good job in terms of keeping the matches going and facilitating the coaches and the players so it's been a very good experience."
The winning lineup consisted of Maureen McCormack, Claire Olson, Alyssa Hensley, Katya Kelly, and Ellie Stamatogiannakis.
