Ponte Vedra resident Elizabeth Anthony recently received the Army Veterinary School scholarship. A lifelong Ponte Vedra resident, Anthony attended St. John’s Academy, graduating from Episcopal High School in 2012. She went on to double major in Animal Science and Biochemistry at Berry College in Georgia, graduating magna cum laude. She was subsequently accepted into the School of Veterinary Medicine at both Cornell University and the University of Florida.

After entering the University of Florida Veterinary School, Anthony applied for the Health Professions Scholarship Program and was awarded one of only 30 scholarships given nationwide. She was sworn into the U.S. Army April 25 and received her commission as a 2nd Lieutenant. The Army supplies all branches of the military with veterinarians.
