Ponte Vedra’s season ends with playoff loss to Godby

The football season ended for Ponte Vedra High School last Friday, Nov. 9, after the Sharks fell to the Godby Cougars, 34-23, in the first round of the playoffs in Tallahassee.

Sharks quarterback Jack Murrah finished 14 of 24 for 133 yards, one touchdown and an interception, while QB Jacobi Myers finished 11 of 18 for 107 yards, one touchdown and an interception. Myers also chipped in 39 yards rushing.

Campbell Parker led the team in rushing with 81 yards on 17 carries. Nick Pirris finished with seven catches for 102 yards and a touchdown, while Kyle Barker had seven receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown. 

On defense, Cole McCormick led the team with 12 tackles. Pete Merlini had 11 tackles, five for a loss, and one sack.

For Godby, quarterback Trey Fisher finished 14 of 19 for 249 yards and three touchdowns. Receiver Trevor Solomon-Wilson had a big night with seven catches for 173 yards and two touchdowns. 

The Ponte Vedra Sharks finished the season 8-3.
