Romanza Festivale returns to Ancient City

St. Augustine’s Romanza Festivale of the Arts will bring activities to a close after its second week with a packed schedule of events, including two more headlining attractions throughout the celebration of art, music and culture.

Lomazov-Rackers Piano Duo

The Lomazov-Rackers Piano Duo will perform at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine Thursday, May 11 at 7:30 p.m. The prize-winning duo, comprised of Marina Lomazov and Joseph Rackers, have performed throughout several countries. Both pianists hold a doctor of musical arts degree in piano performance from the Eastman School of Music in addition to serving on the piano faculty of the University of South Caroline School of Music. Tickets for their performance are $25 for adults, $5 for students with ID and free for children 12 and under.

Romanza Festivale Harry Potter Event

Capping off the series of headlining events will be the Romanza Festivale Harry Potter Event at Francis Field Saturday, May 13 from noon to 8 p.m. This expansive, interactive event will feature an appearance by actor Chris Rankin, best known as the character Percy Weasley from the “Harry Potter” films. Rankin will sign autographs and take photos throughout the day. In addition to the celebrity appearance, the event will feature a sorting hat, shops on Diagon Alley, butter beer, quidditch games, a Hogwarts Express train and hourly shows by magician Andrew Ratliff. The festival will also feature a host of music, dance, theater, art and cuisine events, among them performances from the Chamber Music Series and Young Performers Series; tours of local historic monuments such as the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Spanish Military Hospital Museum; wine tastings at The Gifted Cork; visual arts exhibits including the Gilded: Impressions of the Flagler Era at the St. Augustine Art Association; and theater performances of “Love Letters” and “When Florida was the Wild West.”
