The 6th Annual Roscolusa Songwriters Festival returns to Nocatee April 22, bringing a dozen Nashville singer/songwriters to Ponte Vedra to share the stories behind the chart-topping hits they’ve penned for some of country music’s biggest stars.
To be held from 4 to 10 p.m. at Nocatee Town Center Field, the annual event will feature performances by musicians including Jeffrey Steele, Jesse Rice, Rick Ferrell, Casey Weston and Kim Paige – a Ponte Vedra native who founded the festival. And while some of the performers’ names might not ring a bell, there’s a good chance attendees will have heard some of their songs: Over the past five years, Roscolusa has featured performers who have written hit country songs performed by Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, George Strait, Martina McBride, Sara Evans, Blake Shelton, Florida-Georgia Line and more.
“The festival’s mission is to bring outdoors the cozy living room atmosphere for an intimate night of popular music performed by the original songwriters themselves and to shine a light on the creative world of songwriting,” said Paige, whose brainchild quickly outgrew its original location on Roscoe Boulevard (hence the name “Roscolusa”). “At Roscolusa, you not only get to hear hit songs, but you also get to hear the stories behind them.”
More than a dozen food trucks will also be on site for the festival, which offers free general admission. A $25 cooler fee will be charged for those who wish to bring in their own food and beverages in a 30-quart or smaller cooler. VIP packages are available for $100 and include complimentary food, two free drinks, premier parking and seating in a private section near the stage.
A portion of the proceeds from Roscolusa will benefit the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund’s efforts to help children and families battling childhood cancer.
Presenting sponsors for this year’s festival include Momentum Transportation and the Ponte Vedra-based Pivot CPAs.
