St. Johns County bridges to open no sooner than noon Tuesday

Posted

St. Johns County said Monday night that all bridges will remain closed through at least noon on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

According to the county, the barrier islands sustained extensive damage and substantial high water and flooding, as well as downed power lines. Blocked roadways remain a concern, they added.

St. Johns County officials, first responders, water and electrical service providers will continue to conduct damage and safety assessments on the barrier islands and make repairs to ensure all communities are deemed safe for re-entry. In addition, Roscoe Boulevard remains closed due to safety concerns.
