Three Duval County teenagers, including one adult, were arrested early this (Friday) morning in connection with at least two Ponte Vedra Beach vehicle burglaries, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office (SJSO).

The suspects were identified as Marcus Eugene Dunnigan-Walters, 18, of 10865 Lothmore Road; Gary Antonio Harris, 17, of 110291 Harts Road, #2302; and Jaheem M. Small, 16, of 5341 Tubman Drive North. All three were charged with two counts of burglary to a conveyance and resisting arrest without violence. In addition, Walters and Harris were charged with possession of burglary tools, and Walters was also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Walters was released this morning after posting $8,500 bond, while the two juveniles were turned over to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ).

SJSO said the investigation began shortly before 2 a.m. this morning when a 42-year old Ponte Vedra Beach woman observed three males allegedly breaking into vehicles at The Fountains apartment complex, in the 600 block of A1A North. The trio fled when deputies arrived, and were then taken into custody following a brief search in the area. Deputies located property belonging to at least two victims of the suspects, and additional charges are pending if more victims are discovered.

In addition, deputies said two handguns were discovered in the 2005 Honda that was driven by the adult suspect. The two loaded guns had been reported stolen from vehicles in Duval County burglaries in September and last month, according to SJSO.

Detectives from St. Johns and Duval Counties are continuing the investigation.
