The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Celebrity Golf Classic is set for May 21-23 at TPC Sawgrass. The 2017 celebration will see dozens of sports and entertainment guests, among them Chris Berman, Prince Amukamara and Sean McDonough, who will join Coughlin in supporting local families tackling childhood cancer.
The invitation-only event kicks off Sunday evening with dinner and an online silent auction. The auction will be open a few days ahead of time for online bidding and will close at 9:15 p.m. on Sunday. The dinner will honor local families battling cancer and introduce the annual Tom Coughlin Jay Fund scholarship recipients. Coughlin will present a special message and guests will have the opportunity to meet participating celebrities.
On Monday morning, the tournament will get off to a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., with each foursome matched with a celebrity participant. By 1:30 p.m., a special awards ceremony luncheon will begin.
Entering its 22nd year, the golf classic has become the signature event of the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund, which began in 1996 to celebrate the life of Jay McGillis and raise funds for local families battling childhood cancer. The first tournament raised $51,600, a figure that would climb to more than $500,000 in 2016.
