Underwood’s Jewelers hosted a trunk show May 4 featuring the spring collection of Ippolita. Ten percent of the event’s proceeds benefited Angelwood, a Jacksonville-based nonprofit organization that serves adults and children living with developmental disabilities.

Event attendees admired the Ippolita jewelry while enjoying cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and music. Ippolita is known for its fashion-forward and colorful aesthetics that integrate a wide-ranging group of materials, including multi-faceted stone bracelets, necklaces and rings in gold and silver.

Underwood’s General Manager John Rutkowski said this is the second year the jeweler has held an event benefiting Angelwood. According to Development Director Tera Lageman, last year’s event proceeds of $8,000 were used to improve transportation for the families whom Angelwood serves. The project that will benefit from this year’s event, she said, is unknown until the final amount is determined. Regardless, she expressed her gratitude to Underwood’s for promoting her organization two straight years.

“Lots of people have found out about us,” said Lageman, who noted that Angelwood serves approximately 300 local families per year. “The community recognition is priceless.”

Rutkowski is happy to be supporting such an organization.

“We look forward to a long-term relationship to help benefit Angelwood,” he said.
