A bicyclist died on Saturday, July 21 after she was struck by a vehicle on A1A near Guana River Road, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Jacksonville resident Jennifer C. Bryant, 41, was traveling north in the bicycle lane at approximately 8:30 a.m. when she made a left turn into the path of a Toyota RAV4 also traveling north. Linda Yerrill, the 75-year-old driver of the vehicle and a St. Augustine resident, could not avoid the collision.
The front of the Toyota struck Bryant, who was separated from the bicycle before coming to a rest in the southbound shoulder. According to Florida Highway Patrol, she was wearing a helmet.
