Vilano Beach residents ‘walk the bridge’ in protest of May Street barricades

A group of Vilano Beach residents recently marched across the Francis and Mary Usina Bridge to protest the traffic barricades implemented by the City of St. Augustine on North Magnolia, Douglas and East San Carlos avenues. Protest participants wearing red to signify long lines of tail lights say the barriers have worsened the traffic woes common on May Street leading from the bridge to the Ancient City. The city installed the barricades in November to prevent motorists from using the side streets as a cut-through to circumvent traffic.
