Charles Jantz, a resident of Deercreek Country Club, is the founder and volunteer chairman of the RITA Foundation, an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that raises money for local breast cancer programs. The organization’s next event, the SenioRitas women’s 40+ doubles tennis tournament, is Oct. 19-21 at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach.

Athlete of the Week: Patrick Lee

This week’s Athlete of the Week highlights cross country runner Patrick Lee from Ponte Vedra High School, who recently competed in the Craig Speziale Cross Country Invitational Meet and finished with a personal record. Lee is an exceptional student education (ESE) student who has not let his autism stand in the way of being a dedicated Shark teammate.

One of Us: Nancy Morrison

Nancy Morrison is a co-chair of the 12th annual Pink Ribbon Golf Classic in Ponte Vedra Beach, which is taking place Thursday, Oct. 4 at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. The Classic and ensuing events support Mayo Clinic-Jacksonville and Baptist Medical Center Beaches in their mission to research and treat breast cancer. Morrison is chairing the events with Joanne Ghiloni. The two women have been co-chairs for the last two years.

Bagby, who now teaches world history at St. Augustine High School, served from 2001 to 2009. His first day of Advanced Individual Training was on the morning of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
