A tradition is heading back to Ponte Vedra, benefiting both local residents and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, North Florida Chapter.
The 11th annual Multiple Sclerosis Awareness silent auction will be held May 1 at Mr. Chubby's Wings, 150 Valley Circle, Ponte Vedra Beach. Admission is free.
The silent auction includes 10 vacation/trip packages, California and French wines, sporting and concert tickets, more than 80 local restaurants, salons, pickleball lessons, massages, golf, jewelry, service providers and much more. In addition, there will be a special 50/50 drawing.
New to the tables this year are: Mavi Waterfront Bar & Grill, Alhambra Theatre, I Fly, Napoli's, Sea Love Fishing Charters, Vicious Biscuit, Tranquility Technology and Yard Milkshake Bar. Longtime donors include Aqua Grill, The Addison on Amelia, Bent Oak Nursery, World Golf Village, Cooper's Hawk, European Street, The Florida Theatre, Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, Kudos Massage, Medure, Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, Pusser's, Tropical Smoothie Cafe and the YMCA.
Special items include a five-night stay in Pinehurst, North Carolina, a two-night stay in New Bern, North Carolina, ice cream a month for a year from Flo's Premium Ice Cream, a sandwich and smoothie a month for a year from Tropical Smoothie Cafe, and an entree and beverage a month for a year from Cruiser's Grille.
In all, more than 250 items valued at more than $35,000 will be available for local residents to bid on. In 10 years, the event has raised $250,000 for the MS Society.
The auction is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and 100% of the proceeds reach the North Florida Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, providing programs and services for the more than 18,000 North Floridians impacted by MS.
