The Active After 50 Expo — a lifestyle, health and aging event — will be held Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall and adjacent Ponte Vedra Memory Care Center.

The free event will provide baby boomers, seniors, caregivers, family members and professionals who serve the baby boomer and senior community with information and on-site experts to answer questions on a variety of topics. These topics include fitness, travel and cruises, leisure and recreation, finance, retirement and insurance services, health screenings, home and garden, kitchens and baths, nutrition and diet, memory care services, spas and saunas, technology, senior living and assisted living options, pain relief and more. The event will host over 60 exhibitors offering products and services.

Presenting sponsors Flagler Health+, Bozard Lincoln and Medicare Mary join other sponsors including AARP, the Ponte Vedra Recorder, Humana, Island Doctors, Surterra Wellness, Liberate Physician Centers and Rebath. Brought to you by activeboomersandseniors.com and WSOS Radio, the Active After 50 Expo is produced by Lifestyle Events Management.

Treasures from the Attic

The Expo will feature a Treasures from the Attic antique appraisal in the Ponte Vedra Memory Care Center, sponsored by the Ponte Vedra Recorder.

The event is based off the popular PBS show, “Antiques Roadshow.” Appraisals will be provided by B. Langston Estate Sales & Auctions and Expert Jewelry Appraisers. Hand carried treasures will receive a verbal approximation of value for $5 an item with proceeds benefitting the St. Johns County Council on Aging (COA).

“By participating in the Treasures from the Attic antiques appraisal portion of the expo, you will help COA continue to serve seniors in St. Johns County,” said Tom Toretta, development and communications manager for the COA. “As a nonprofit serving the county for over 45 years, we rely heavily on the support of the community.”

Passport to Prizes

Sponsored by Liberate Physicians Centers and Surterra Wellness, visitors to the Expo also have an opportunity to participate in Passport to Prizes to win a variety of prizes provided by sponsors and exhibitors at the show.

Grand Prizes include a large 55-inch flat-screen Smart TV courtesy of activeboomersandseniors.com and an “Evening Out in Lincoln Luxury” courtesy of Bozard Lincoln.

Upon entering the Expo, guests will receive a passport. They can visit the booths with a Passport to Prizes sign to have their passports stamped or initialed by the exhibitor, while at the same time learn from the providers about their products and services.

After all exhibitors have signed the passports, guests can return it to the Liberate Physicians Centers/Surterra Wellness booth near the Concert Hall entrance. Starting at 11 a.m., WSOS Radio will announce a prize winner every 30 minutes from the Main Stage. The remaining prizes, including the two grand prizes, will be drawn at 1:45 p.m. on the Concert Hall Main Stage. Guests do not need to be present to win but should make sure their names and email addresses are clearly printed on the front of the passport so they can be contacted if they are prize winners.
