Angelwood teams with Underwood Jewelers for trunk show fundraiser

Angelwood and Underwood Jewelers continued their partnership by hosting the annual trunk show and fundraiser event at the jeweler’s Ponte Vedra Beach location on May 2.

The partnership between the two organizations began in 2016 and the event has become a staple on the Angelwood fundraising calendar over the years.

Not only did a portion of sales from the trunk show that night go toward benefiting Angelwood’s mission to serve children, adults and families living with disabilities in the local community.

According to Damara Farwell, chief development officer with Angelwood, having partnerships with tradition-rich businesses such as Underwood Jewelers means the world and goes a long way in helping spread the nonprofit’s message.

“There were definitely more people in attendance than last year, which shows how the event just continues to grow,” Farwell said.

This year’s event also featured Angelwood selling tickets for a chance to win a Lagos Black Ceramic Six Station Diamond Caviar Bracelet valued at $2,600 and courtesy of Underwood Jewelers.

However, that was not the only time to buy tickets as they are also being sold at Angelwood’s thrift shop located at 5711 Bowden Road in Jacksonville and at Soaring Possibilities, which is Angelwood’s annual celebration night on Aug. 17 at the Sawgrass Marriott beginning at 6 p.m.

The winner of the bracelet will be drawn at the celebration and the person does not have to be present in order to claim the prize.

The opening of the thrift shop in November was one of the major achievements Angelwood has had occur within the last year as it continues to look for new ways to make an impact after 30-plus years.

“It really strives to create opportunities and a training ground for those in our program to learn valuable skill training.”
