It has been two wins and two blowouts for the Nease Panthers, after they defeated fellow county opponent Creekside High 45-7 to improve to 2-0 on the season.
The Panthers dominated from start to finish and with every aspect of the game and put together their second straight complete game in as many weeks.
Offensively, whatever plays the Panthers called seemed to work, whether it through the air or on the ground, as quarterback Nate Harry continued his precise decision-making from the pocket.
And one of the additional bright spots was that K.J. Perry and the running game was able to find consistent yards as the offensive line blocked their way to some gapping holes for the backs to run through all night.
And it was not just Perry that found success, but several backs as both senior Andrew Moses and sophomore Enrique Ordonez were able to get more reps and break free for some nice gains and a touchdown each of their own as well.
The Panthers’ defense only gave up seven points for the second straight week as well, as the Panthers led 17-7 at the half before shutting out the Knights (0-2) in the second half and putting the game away for good.
Knights’ quarterback Sean Ashenfelder was under duress by the Panthers’ front seven all night and was never able to feel comfortable and as a result, their offense was not able to establish a real rhythm at any point.
With the reserves entering the game in the fourth quarter, the veteran leaders were on the sideline cheering them on with every play that was made by them no matter what side of the ball.
That shows the team comradery the Panthers have established, and it is something the Panthers can build on moving forward.
