The Professional Artists of St. Augustine (P.A.St.A.) Fine Art Gallery has welcomed artist Gary Trbovich to its growing membership. Trbovich’s colorful and playful watercolors evoke the First Coast beach lifestyle, past and present. His work is available for sale at the P.A.St.A. Fine Art Gallery, 214 Charlotte St., St. Augustine.

Trbovich moved to Jacksonville Beach from Pittsburgh in 1982 and has been living the laid-back beach lifestyle for the last 40 years. Primarily self-taught, and with the encouragement of friends and family, he joined the Jacksonville Artists Guild and set up a store on Etsy.

His work has been featured in the Jacksonville International Airport Gallery, the Jacksonville Main Library Bicentennial Celebration Display, the Beaches Museum, and as the featured artist in the August 2022 edition of the FirstCoast.Life virtual magazine.

From beach houses to iconic motels, Trbovich’s approach uses a spontaneous brush and the vivid colors found throughout the First Coast beach communities.

“I draw my inspiration from daily walks on the beach, and also by just living in the Beaches community,” Trbovich said. “Many of my paintings are of area buildings, some existing, some no longer standing. I love to stir the memories of residents and former residents with depictions of the places they grew up, especially of those residents who have moved to other parts of the country.”
