Author to offer ideas for prospective writers

Posted

One fundamental choice prospective writers must make is what to write. That’s not as simple as it sounds.

The old adage is: “Write what you read.” But what if you read and enjoy various genres, i.e., science fiction, mystery, thrillers, romance, etc.? How do you choose? Perhaps you want to write a family history, some tale only you can tell. Those interested in writing, are invited to join Janet Kuchler at the Northeast Florida Sisters in Crime meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, and discover answers to these questions.

Writing as Janet Cooper, Kuchler is a multi-published author. Her two historicals, “Independence” and “Mooncussers,” take place in the late 1700s in America. “Another Chance,” her time-travel story, also takes place in this period of time. In addition, she's written three mysteries: “River of Lies,” “Retribution” and “Secret Deceptions.” All are part of her Murder in The Lowcountry series.

The meeting will be held at the Ponte Vedra Library, 101 Library Blvd., Ponte Vedra Beach.
