Ballet Palm Beach will perform its first-ever ticketed touring performances with the production of “Snow White and Other Works” at the Lewis Auditorium in St. Augustine. The shows will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23 and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24.

“I’m thrilled to be mounting our first touring performances in St. Augustine, which, like Palm Beach County, enjoys such a rich history and close association with Henry Flagler,” said Ballet Palm Beach Artistic Director Colleen Smith. “When my sister, a math professor at Flagler College, showed me the wonderful Lewis Auditorium, I just knew we needed to bring this production here.”

“Snow White” is an original work by Smith, premiering in October 2016. In the production, a beautiful, exiled princess finds refuge with an unlikely band of heroes, and a jealous queen plots.

In addition, Ballet Palm Beach is performing Balanchine's charming “Who Cares?” This work portrays an exuberance that is both broadly American and charged with the distinctive energy of Manhattan. Guest Principal Dancer Joseph Gattia former principal dancer at Corella Ballet in Spain and Cincinnati Ballet and currently a highly-acclaimed guest principal dancer with Orlando Balletwill perform with the rest of the company. This will be the second time Ballet Palm Beach has performed a Balanchine work. Philip Neal, a former principal dancer with New York City Ballet, will set the work on the dancers.

Also on the bill is “Talisman Pas De Deux,” a dreamy, dazzling display of virtuosity and beauty. Steven Melendezprotégé of David Howard and guest principal dancer of New York Theatre Balletjoins Ballet Palm Beach again this season partnering with ballerina Lily Ojea Loveland. Finally, “Space Between Words,” an emotional contemporary piece by Floridian choreographer Donna Murray will be performed.
