Baptist Health updates patients on vaccine plans

Posted

As news of the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine spreads, Baptist Health wants to keep patients informed.

Here’s what Baptist Health is doing:

■ Following Gov. Ron DeSantis’ Executive Order 20-315 and CDC recommendations for COVID-19 vaccine allocation.

■ Patients who are age 65-plus or who have a CDC-qualifying condition are a priority group for the vaccine at Baptist Health. (However, patient demand for the vaccine far exceeds current supply.)

■ Baptist expects its vaccine supply to increase in the future and will provide patients with appointment opportunities at Baptist Health as soon as possible. In the meantime, Baptist is encouraging eligible patients to receive the vaccine through state and city resources; details are located on the hospitals COVID-19 vaccination page at www.baptistjax.com/services/covid19/covid-19-vaccine

■ Patients will be contacted by email when COVID-19 vaccine appointments are available at Baptist Health. This is expected to occur in late January or early February, but there are no confirmed dates at this time.

■ Baptist Health is committed to keeping patients updated. The hospital plans to provide patients with a weekly vaccine update for the next few weeks to inform the public of current status and what to expect next.
