Becker’s Hospital Review has included James Case, vice president and chief information security officer at Baptist Health, in its 60-strong list of Hospital and Health System CISOs and CPOs to Know for 2023.
Becker’s commended the cybersecurity leaders for helping their organizations “not only survive but thrive.”
Further, the publication noted that its list is comprised of individuals who have leveraged years of experience in IT cybersecurity to safeguard patient and administration information in addition to launching new initiatives, establishing novel technologies and building talented IT teams.
Case has worked in IT within the health care industry for nearly 30 years. His tenure at Baptist Health began in 2005 when he served as a senior product manager for two years. Throughout his career, he has held information security roles both within Baptist Health and outside of the organization.
In 2021, he assumed his current senior leadership position, where he is responsible for leading day-to-day operations for information security, including incident response, the education of team members, vulnerability management, risk assessment and intrusion prevention.
He is also tasked with protecting clinical information and the confidentiality of patients, as well as with delivering an effective cybersecurity program.
“Cyber threats are a very real concern for many industries, and health care is no exception,” said Aaron Miri, senior vice president and chief digital and information officer at Baptist Health. “James’ continued commitment to safeguarding our systems allows our team members to focus on our mission of providing excellent health care to those in the region.”
