Bass tournament to benefit Wolfson Children’s Hospital

Registration is open for the 34th annual Wolfson Children’s Hospital Bass Tournament. The event, which benefits Wolfson Children’s patients, will return May 18-20 at the city docks in Palatka.

This year, more than $48,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to competitors from across the Southeast.

Also, for $20, anyone may enter a drawing for a chance to win a 21-foot 2023 Bullet Boat model 21XRS with a trailer, courtesy of Bullet Boats, valued at $78,000 (motor to be included).

All proceeds from the drawing will help fund new technology for the C. Herman and Mary Virginia Terry Heart Institute at Wolfson Children’s Hospital. To enter the bass boat drawing, go to wolfsonbasstournament.com. Ticket sales close at noon June 2. This year’s drawing will be broadcast on Facebook Live at 11 a.m. June 3.

The Wolfson Children’s Bass Tournament is one of the largest bass fishing tournaments in Florida, and one of the longest-running, now in its 34th year.

Since the first tournament in 1989, the event has raised more than $6 million for Wolfson Children’s and the patients treated there.

  • May 18: Lads & Lasses Tournament (one male, one female boater). Palatka City Docks.
  • May 19: VIP & Friends Tournament (sponsor boats pre-fish). Palatka City Docks.
  • May 20: 34th Annual Wolfson Children’s Hospital Bass Tournament. Palatka City Docks.

Register online at wolfsonbasstournament.com. Register before noon May 16. In-person registrations will take place at the Palatka City Docks from 4 a.m. to safe light the morning of May 18 and May 19 and from 3 a.m. to safe light the morning of Saturday’s tournament. Boats launch at safe light.
