Mayo named to FHA board

Led by President and CEO Mary Mayhew, the FHA is governed by a Board of Trustees and officers elected by more than 200 member hospitals and health care systems. Through representation, advocacy, education and information, the FHA supports the mission of providing the highest quality of care to patients.

Mayo also serves on the Board of Governors for the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), an international professional society, and is a state delegate with the American Hospital Association, where he is involved in policy issues that affect the care and health of communities in the Southeast region.

Jacksonville Country Day School selects new head of school

The Board of Trustees of Jacksonville Country Day School (JCDS), an independent Pre-K 3 through sixth-grade school, has chosen Christopher M. Johnson as the next head of school. Johnson will succeed Pat Walker, who will retire after nine years as head of school at JCDS, and more than 30 years as an educator. Walker has been an integral part of the JCDS community since 1994 and her leadership has been transformative. Johnson was selected following an extensive nationwide search of top candidates. The transition will take place on July 1.

Johnson currently serves as the head of upper school for Scheck Hillel Community School in Miami. His prior experience includes working as a K-8 assistant principal, teacher trainer, curriculum coordinator, and classroom instructor on three continents.

Johnson holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and political science from the University of Arizona, a postgraduate teacher certification in secondary education from Pima Community College, a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from Plymouth State University, and a Master of Education in educational leadership from the University of Arizona.
