Berkshire Hathaway HSFNR hosts first responders luncheon

Posted

First responders visited Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty (HSFNR) by the busload last Wednesday, Feb. 13, to have a homemade lunch at the business’ Ponte Vedra Beach office in Sawgrass Village.

Attendees included firefighters, paramedics and local police officers. All first responders enjoyed slow roasted pork, broccoli salad and a meat and cheese Stromboli.

The third annual luncheon is aimed at not only showing appreciation for first responders but allowing the community to interact with them and ask questions.

“I love it; this is a fun event to come to and (they) take care of us,” said Lt. Doug Shatzel of St. Johns County Fire Rescue. “We love eating and we love the food. We also love coming out to the community to talk to people. We are able to share some of our stories and answer some of their questions that people have.”

According to Bill Irwin, who organized the event, over 30 first responders showed up over the course of the day to dine at Berkshire Hathaway HSFNR. Afterward, Irwin and the Berkshire Hathaway HSFNR team delivered leftovers to stations with responders who were unable to attend.

Included with lunch, Berkshire Hathaway HSFNR also gifted door prizes, which included Nona Blue gift cards, THE PLAYERS Championship tickets, Metro Diner baskets, a Hilton Garden Inn complimentary stay and a Sawgrass Marriott gift card. Peterbrooke Chocolatier, Florida Network Property Management, Prosperity Home Mortgage, 2-10 Home Warranty, Gibraltar Title and Kuhn Flowers were also sponsors of the event.
