The Ponte Vedra Focus, a local community blog, is now accepting submissions for their annual $1,000 scholarship.
For the second straight year, The Volen Group is sponsoring a blog writing scholarship open to all senior high school students in Duval or St. Johns Counties who plan to continue their education after graduation.
Posts should be well-written, interesting articles about the greater Jacksonville community. Entries can be funny or serious. Topics can range from weekend activities to traffic issues to shout outs for local favorite places. They can be about food or football or any other subject that has a relevant local theme. Some ideas have included great vegan restaurants, best places to thrift shop, “what I wish I knew when I moved here” and where to adopt a pet. The top five submissions will be published on the blog.
Deadline for submissions is March 15.
