Trump supporters with boats cruised the Swimming Pen Creek, Doctors Lake and St. Johns River on Sunday, June 14, in honor of the president’s birthday. The president turned 74 years old.

The event, dubbed, “Trump’s Birthday Boat Rally,” featured more than 1,000 boats waving Trump flags from Metropolitan Park to Fleming Island, according to the Republican Party of Duval County.

Bonnie Hayflick, who happened to be at Whitey’s Fish Camp during the parade, said the boats were “side by side on every dock space and waiting on the creek to get in.”

Hayflick also said that some of the boaters had said they had come from Alabama to participate in the rally.

The rally was one of several planned throughout Florida, including Miami, Pensacola and Tampa. The event was organized by the wife of State Rep. Cord Byrd, Ester Byrd.

The parade came just days after it was announced that Jacksonville will host part of the Republican Nation Convention on late August.
