Jacksonville Jaguars legend Tony Boselli was lauded as a champion both on and off the field Saturday night, May 13, as the Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee received the 2023 “Rock of the Community Award” at the Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra Beach’s annual Mineral City Celebration.

Boselli was recognized for his efforts to aid local students and educators through the Boselli Foundation. In remarks by Jaguars announcer Brian Sexton and video testimonials from former Jaguars Coach Tom Coughlin, local businessman Gary Chartrand and others, Boselli was praised for being a man of faith, integrity and character.

“The Rotary Club created the Rock of the Community Award to recognize individuals who dedicate themselves to making a positive impact on Ponte Vedra Beach and the First Coast,” Rotary Club President Ronald “Doc” Renuart said. “Tony Boselli’s commitment to our community makes him amply deserving of this honor.”

More than 300 people attended the gala, which featured a “Rat Pack” theme, complete with music by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and others of the Rat Pack era. Classic cars from the period lined the driveway of the Sawgrass Marriott, where guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and dinner along with a silent auction and luxury trip raffle.

Entertainment was provided by nationally acclaimed Frank Sinatra tribute artist Michael Dutra.

The Mineral City Celebration is the signature annual fundraising event for the Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra Beach. Proceeds from the event have benefited more than two dozen local nonprofit organizations and charities, including the Beaches Dial-a-Ride program, Mission House, BEAM, HEAL, the Council on Aging and more.
