Business community to get soaked to fight ALS

Posted

Imagine an event where CEOs, business professionals and community leaders are making a splash for a cause that truly matters. That's what CEO Soak is all about — an exciting blend of corporate engagement and philanthropy, inspired by the Ice Bucket Challenge phenomenon.

From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, the ALS Association plans to soak community members at Intuition Ale Works in Jacksonville. CEO Soak events are making waves across the United States and each event is as unique as the community it serves.

Whether you're standing in a fountain, taking the plunge in a pool, braving a dunk tank, or simply embracing an ice bucket over your head, there's a way for everyone to make a splash. Challenge your peers, network with fellow changemakers, and boost employee morale by getting soaked!

“Over the past 10 years, we’ve seen major advancements in research, advocacy and care that have impacted the ALS community,” said Ray Carson, territory executive of the ALS Association. “The Ice Bucket Challenge changed the future and trajectory of the disease and our hopes for the future. But there is still more work to be done. By getting ‘soaked’ at CEO Soak Jacksonville presented by VyStar Credit Union, you are helping us continue to provide hope and help to those in our community living with ALS and their caregivers, while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure. It’s going to take all of us, working together, to finally see a world without ALS.”

Intuition Ale Works is located at 929 E. Bay St., Jacksonville.

All funds raised by the CEO Soak provide help and hope for those living with ALS by supporting patient care, advocacy and cutting-edge research to find treatments and a cure for this debilitating, always fatal disease.
