The Early Learning Coalition of Duval’s Board of Directors has named Angel Carro the next president and CEO. Carro, who previously served as chief operating officer, succeeds Denise Marzullo, who had been CEO since 2017 and relocated to South Florida in June. Carro began his new role on Monday, July 17. He has been with the coalition since 2006.

Carro oversaw ELC’s $111 million budget and was instrumental in locally implementing $56 million in American Recovery Plan Act grants. He has deep knowledge of state and federal nonprofit rules and is well respected by peer coalitions throughout Florida.

Carro has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance from Florida State University. He serves on the Division of Early Learning’s EFS Mod Change Control Board and co-leads the Association of Early Learning Coalition’s Finance Group.

Carro and his wife, Lori, live in Orange Park. They have two children.
